Interior pages and back cover were not assessed, and the plastic sleeve creates some glare that may obscure minor defects.

Web of Spider-Man launched in 1985 as Marvel's third ongoing Spider-Man title, giving the character room for stories outside the main continuity pressures of Amazing Spider-Man. Issue #18, cover-dated September 1986, arrived during the book's early run under regular series artist Alex Saviuk, whose clean, traditional pencils defined the title's visual identity for years. The issue is a workmanlike entry in the character's mid-1980s output rather than a landmark chapter, with no first appearance, death, or creative milestone attached to it.

Market data reflects that status: sales activity is thin across the grading spectrum, with only single-digit certified sales recorded at most grade points and no transactions at all below 5.5. Values stay compressed and flat through the mid-to-high grades before spiking sharply at 9.6 and 9.8, a pattern typical of common Copper Age newsstand books where high-grade survivors are scarce simply because so few were preserved with sharp corners and clean spines rather than because of any inherent collector premium. The modest handful of 9.8 sales driving the top-end figure warrants some caution given the small sample size.

This is a book that trades primarily as filler for Spider-Man run collectors and Web of Spider-Man completists rather than as a standalone investment piece. Raw copies in low and mid grades carry nominal value and move mostly in bulk lots or dollar bins, while the real financial interest concentrates entirely at the 9.6-9.8 tier, where newsstand scarcity in top condition can command a real premium over otherwise unremarkable content. Buyers here are grade-chasers and series runs collectors rather than key-issue investors.
