Cover shows good color gloss overall with strong ink saturation on the reds and greens. There is a small crease/spine tick visible near the top of the red monster figure's shoulder, and light wear at the top and bottom of the spine with minor whitening. Corners appear slightly blunted rather than sharp, and there's faint surface rubbing along the left edge under the protective sleeve. The book is bagged, obscuring finer edge/corner detail, and interior and back cover were not assessed.

Chamber of Darkness was one of several short-lived Marvel anthology titles launched in 1969 as the company tested a revival of macabre, EC-influenced suspense storytelling under the loosened Comics Code standards of the era. Issue #3, cover-dated February 1970, continues that format with a set of stand-alone horror and suspense shorts rather than a continuing narrative or recurring cast, in keeping with the series' anthology structure across its eight-issue run.
