World's Finest Comics #137, cover-dated November 1963, is a representative entry in DC's long-running Superman/Batman team-up title during its Silver Age heyday. The issue pairs the lead feature starring the World's Finest duo with a Green Arrow backup strip, a format the series carried through much of the early 1960s before Green Arrow was phased out later in the decade. Curt Swan's clean, dynamic pencils anchor the era's house style, and the book reflects the editorial approach under Jack Schiff and later Mort Weisinger of pairing DC's two flagship heroes in done-in-one adventures aimed at a young readership.
Market data for #137 is thin, with only 29 total CGC Universal copies on census and just one or two recorded sales at most grade points, making this a book that trades occasionally rather than one with a deep, liquid market. The FMV curve nonetheless shows the expected steep climb toward the top of the census: mid-grade copies in the 6.5 to 8.5 range command modest but real premiums over low-grade material, and the single certified 9.4 sale near the top of the pyramid trades at a significant multiple over anything below it. With only one 9.8 known and no sales recorded at that grade, top-end value is necessarily inferred rather than directly observed.
This is a book collected primarily by Superman and Batman team-up completists and by World's Finest run-builders rather than by first-appearance or key-issue speculators, since #137 carries no major firsts. Demand is steady but modest, low-grade reading copies are inexpensive and plentiful, mid-grade copies see occasional competitive bidding among run collectors, and true high-grade certified copies are scarce enough that a 9.8 would likely draw outsized interest from census-completion buyers when it eventually surfaces at auction.
