This Silver Age Joker cover shows moderate wear consistent with a well-read Golden/Silver-Age book: heavy spine stress with multiple ticks and a small chip at the top of the spine, rounded and slightly worn corners, and general surface wear/soiling especially along the left edge. There is visible fading to the cover colors and some minor edge chipping along the top and bottom borders, with the interior/back cover not assessed. No major tears, tape, or writing are visible, but the overall wear places this in the lower-mid grade range.

// Archive commentary
Batman #136 arrived in December 1960, part of the tightly plotted run of Batman and Robin adventures that DC produced during editor Jack Schiff's stewardship of the title in the years just before the New Look relaunch. The issue reflects the house style of the period: bright, imaginative menace-of-the-month plotting scripted largely by the era's regular Batman writers and drawn by Sheldon Moldoff working in the Bob Kane studio under the Kane credit line common to the time. It carries no first appearance, death, or origin story of lasting significance, but it is a representative example of the pre-New Look Batman aesthetic that collectors of the full run seek to complete.,
