Cover shows moderate wear consistent with a mid-grade Silver Age book: a vertical crease running through the upper green background near the logo, light corner blunting at top corners, and general handling softness along the spine with faint stress lines. Slight surface wear and minor rubbing is visible along the left edge; no major tears, color breaks, or missing pieces are apparent from this scan. Interior pages and back cover were not assessed, so the final grade could shift once those are examined.

Avengers #33 (October 1966) arrived from the Roy Thomas/Don Heck creative team as the second chapter of the "Sons of the Serpent" arc, a story that used a thinly veiled Ku Klux Klan analog to address contemporary racial tension, a rare move for mainstream superhero comics of the period. The issue continues directly from Avengers #32, which had introduced Bill Foster, Hank Pym's lab assistant and one of the earliest recurring Black characters in the Marvel Universe, and keeps the roster of Captain America, Hawkeye, Goliath, and the Wasp squared off against the hooded Serpent organization and its shadowy backers. Don Heck's pencils, a mainstay of the early Avengers run, anchor a story that mixed street-level social commentary with the team's costumed melodrama.
