Cover shows strong gloss and bright colors with sharp corners visible in the photo; a small crease/tear is visible at the top edge near the spine, and there's minor rubbing along the top edge. No major creases, stains, or spine stress lines are otherwise visible through the protective sleeve. Interior and back cover were not assessed, and the plastic sleeve may be masking minor surface wear.

Action Comics #661 appeared in January 1991, part of the long Superman-family run overseen by writer Roger Stern with art by Bob McLeod, continuing the title's decades-long chronicle of the Man of Steel's adventures in Metropolis. By this point Action Comics had shifted from its anthology roots to a straight Superman vehicle, integrated tightly with the other Superman titles of the era as DC coordinated weekly continuity across Action, Adventure, and Superman itself.

This is an ordinary mid-run issue with no first appearance, death, or landmark creative milestone attached to it, and it has not attracted attention as a notable back-issue outside of general run-builders. As a newsstand edition it carries a somewhat lower print run than the direct-market counterpart, which affects the population of surviving well-preserved copies but does not by itself create meaningful collector demand at raw grades.

Copies of this issue trade as bulk stock: readily available, inexpensive in any grade below near-mint, and mostly bought by Superman completists filling out their Copper Age Action Comics runs rather than by investors or key-issue speculators. High-grade certified examples see modest premiums tied to newsstand scarcity, but the book's overall market position remains that of a common, easily replaced supporting issue in a very long-running series.
