// Archive commentary
River of Chaos #1 launched a three-issue Dark Horse Comics miniseries in 1995, written by Louise Simonson with art by Mike Vosburg, part of the publisher's expansive 1990s output of original Star Wars adventures set between the films. The story follows a river-world smuggling operation entangled with Imperial remnants, one of many self-contained tales Dark Horse produced during its license period to keep the franchise active in comics between the original trilogy and the prequels. It does not introduce any characters who carried forward into later Star Wars continuity, nor does it feature a notably collected cover image, placing it outside the ranks of recognized keys from the era.
