Primal Force #0 is the September 1994 launch issue for DC's Primal Force, one of several new-team titles rolled out under the publisher's Zero Month promotion that accompanied the Zero Hour crossover. Written by Steven T. Seagle with art by Ken Hooper and Barbara Kaalberg, the issue assembles a roster built around the previously established Red Tornado and Doctor Mist alongside new characters including Cataclysm, Claw, Golem, Jack-O-Lantern, Meridian, and Silver Dragon, framing the team around elemental and mystical themes distinct from DC's mainstream superhero line.
The series ran only a short time before cancellation, and this zero issue never developed the kind of aftermarket demand seen in longer-running or better-remembered 1990s DC launches. It carries no significant first appearances beyond characters specific to this title, and neither the creative team nor the concept generated lasting collector interest. As with most Zero Month output, the issue was widely available on newsstands and in direct-market quantities, keeping supply high relative to demand.
This is a book acquired by Primal Force or Zero Hour tie-in completists and by readers assembling a full run of DC's 1994 zero-issue wave rather than by speculative buyers. It trades as inexpensive reader-grade stock in raw form, and high-grade certified copies are uncommon mainly because few collectors have found reason to submit the book for grading, not because of any scarcity in the wild.
