A prominent horizontal tear runs across the entire width of the cover roughly a third of the way down, causing visible misalignment of the artwork between the top and bottom sections. There is additional heavy wear at the corners with rounding and small chips, edge wear along the spine and right border, and general surface creasing throughout. The cover retains its color and gloss reasonably well and the front image is complete, but the major tear and heavy handling wear place this in the low grade range. Interior pages and back cover were not visible in this photo and were not assessed.

Raw copies in low and mid grade trade as inexpensive reading copies, priced near other back numbers from the same run, while the gap to a certified 9.8 reflects the difficulty of finding a Modern Age book in true black-label perfection rather than any landmark status. Expect steady, unspectacular demand at the low and mid tiers with sharp, low-volume premiums reserved for top-census slabs.
